VOLUNTEER INFORMATION

As a volunteer run organization and our programs depend upon the selfless help of generous people who are willing to donate their time to make MUSA the best that it can be, maintaining the successful planning and operation of a Recreation Soccer League and Travel Soccer program for almost 500 players from four years old through high school can sometimes be a daunting task. And it’s more than just coaching.

We need a pool of volunteers for various positions to improve, operate and keep the programs running, providing the best opportunities for players (most positions only take an hour a week). Volunteerism is the ultimate in demonstrating compassionate concern for all people and the community we share. We need help with fundraising, publicity, field scheduling, and many other aspects of our Club’s administration - none of which require any soccer playing experience.

Please consider becoming a MUSA volunteer today. No contribution is too small. The players are counting on us!

If you want to get involved or if you just have a suggestion, please email questions or comments:  [email protected].

If you wish to volunteer you may do so at the top of this page.  You may also contact a board member or attend a board meeting.

Coach and Assistant Coach Volunteers Needed!! This is probably where you said “I don’t know the first thing about soccer, how can I be the coach?” Well, if you know how run, kick a ball, have fun, and can show someone how to do these things … then you can be a coach! Practices for these age group is about improving social skills, improving coordination, learning the concepts of soccer, about having fun, and numerous other things which you will discover during your first season. These things are accomplished through games that are played that inadvertently teach them the skills they will need to play soccer.

MUSA is a 100% volunteer organization, and we require significant assistance in preparing for and administrating each season. Coaches and Assistant Coaches are the lifeblood of our organization. Both you and the children will benefit immensely from your involvement. Our program has grown tremendously in the past few years, and we are need of volunteer coaches and assistant coaches for each team, in each age group.

The intent of our Recreation soccer program is to provide a safe, fun, structured and fair environment for children to play and get exercise. We will not keep standings, we will not keep records, and we will not crown a champion. This doesn’t mean there isn’t competition because every game has a winner and a not so good. Focus is on the experience of recreation soccer, not the game's outcome.

Golden Rules of MUSA Rec Soccer

1) HAVE FUN
2) GET KIDS ON THE MOVE
3) NO LINES, NO LECTURES, NO LAPS

Most parents want to coach the team their player is on and when teams are formed, the registrar coordinates this. Experience is not required. MUSA Rec Soccer is producing the program’s curriculum and fun practice plans for guidance. The intent of providing these items is to increase the quality of our program, assist coaches and promote a consistent approach to teaching soccer at MUSA.

Do not be afraid to ask for assistance with one player or the entire team, MUSA has experienced coaches that can provide guidance. Please email questions or comments to [email protected].

To sign up for coach or assistant coach indicate interest when registering your player(s) online or at the top of this page.
